Google Unveils John Lennon 'Doodle' For 70th Birthday

Search engine Google has created a special 'Google Doodle' to mark what would have been John Lennon's 70th birthday.

The design honouring the former Beatle can be seen on the Google homepage, as well in the video below.

The short video is accompanied by the message 'Give peace a chance', and has been praised by users.

One said: “Happy 70th, John Lennon! I hope you're starting a Revolution in Strawberry Fields right now...”

Lennon, who was shot dead in 1980, would have celebrated his 70th birthday on Saturday (October 9). Celebrations are due to take place across the globe.

Meanwhile, a set of Lennon's fingerprints have been seized by the FBI ahead of an auction in New York.
