More about:

Beatles fans around the world came together on October 9 to mark what would have been John Lennon’s 70th birthday.

Tributes took place around the world, led in Iceland by the former Beatles’ widow, Yoko Ono.

She was joined by her son Sean and Fab Four drummer Ringo at a special concert in Reykjavik.

A memorial was unveiled in Liverpool, while in New York hundreds of fans congregated at Strawberry Fields in Central Park, which is near the singer’s former home.
