Former Happy Mondays star Bez has lost an appeal to have an assault conviction overturned.
In August, the dancer was jailed for four weeks for attacking his ex-girlfriend Monica Ward.
He was originally given a community order, but was jailed after refusing to serve the sentence.
Appearing at Manchester Crown Court on Friday (October 22), Bez lost his appeal against the sentence and was told that he must pay £500 costs.
He reacted angrily to the decision, and told the judge: “It's a joke. I'm going to take this to a higher court.”
But speaking outside the court, his lawyer said he was unlikely to pursue the matter further, reports BBC News.
