Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has revealed that he has missed being surrounded by his bandmates in recent years.
The singer has reconvened with the group to record their new album following a brief spell with Them Crooked Vultures.
Grohl said he had enjoyed his time with the side-project, but was relishing the opportunity to get back on the road with the Foo Fighters.
"The last two and a half years has been really fun but I miss it, I miss being in the Foo Fighters,” he said.
Grohl told BBC Newsbeat that the band were around half-way through recording their new album.
He said the album, produced by Butch Vig, would be the band's heaviest yet and that they were currently recording it “totally old school analogue."
As previously reported on Gigwise, Foo Fighters will showcase the as-yet-untitled record at two huge UK shows next summer.
