Happy Mondays' Bez 'Sought By Police'

Happy Mondays star Bez is being sought by police over allegations he violated a restraining order involving his former girlfriend.

In August, the dancer was jailed for four weeks for attacking Monica Ward. He was originally given a community order, but was jailed after refusing to serve the sentence.

He was also told that he couldn't contact her for two years.

But Ward has made fresh claims that Bez, who has gone into hiding, has since attempted to contact her.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman told the Press Association: "He is said to have made repeated attempts to contact Monica by phone and text.

“We will arrest him when we find him. Attempts are being made to track him down. We may need to get another police force involved."

Last month, Bez lost an appeal to have the assault conviction overturned.
