Sham 69 frontman Mr Jimmy Pursey has caused a stir and raised many an eyebrow at the opening of an art gallery in Brighton last Friday (May 6) when he stormed in and shouted the place down after feeling his own work had been slighted.
The Hed gallery had asked the rocker, who shook the charts with songs such as Angels With Dirty Faces in the 70s, to submit some of his work for their opening show - as Pursey is now a bit of a paintbrush-squeezer, don'tcha know.
But chaos ensued after the curator decided against including every single last bleedin' one of them in the final exhibition and just use a select few of his masterpieces.
That was when it all went spiralling out of control...
A spokesperson told The Independent, "Jimmy burst into the drinks party we were holding, dressed head to toe in denim, and told us he was very upset.
"He shouted: 'I spent months painting these. If you're not showing all of them, you can't fucking have any of them.'
"Then he ripped his paintings off the wall and marched out with them under one arm. It's the talk of the local art scene."
