Coldplay were joined by Take That's Gary Barlow and comedian Peter Kay at a secret gig in Liverpool last night (December 19).

The band performed a hit-laden set at the city's Royal Court Theatre in aid of the homeless charity, Crisis.

Coldplay were introduced on stage by Kay, who later returned to accompany Barlow and Coldplay on a version of Take That's 'Back For Good'.

Other songs in the band's set included 'Politik', 'Yellow' and a rendition of their current festive single, 'Christmas Lights'.

Crisis said Coldplay fans had already raised more than £238,000 for the charity.

As previously reported on Gigwise, Coldplay are currently putting the finishing touches to their new album.

The follow-up to 2008's 'Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends' is due to be released next year.

Coldplay are also set to play another secret show in Newcastle tonight (December 20). Gigwise will have a full report later.
