Eminem has signed Yelawolf to his record label Shady Records, it has been announced.
Yelawolf, who used to be homeless, is currently putting this final touches to his debut album, due out in the spring.
In an interview with Vibe magazine, the rapper said he was signed after Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenberg flew him to Detroit for a meeting.
"When I called my mom to tell her—she straight started 'boo hoo' crying, she was just so happy for me,” Yelawolf said.
“She knows how big Eminem is and she never imagined that I would get to this level. My team actually even surprised me with the news and literally just said ‘the Shady deal is done’ one day.”
The rapper added that he had yet to record any music with Eminem, although he said they hoped they could work in the future.
