Charlie Gilmour, the son of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, has been charged following his involvement in a student protest in London last year.
The 21-year-old has been charged with violent disorder and is also accused of stealing the leg of a mannequin during the protest over tuition fees on December 9.
He is due to appear at the City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court on February 10, reports BBC News.
Following the incident last month, Gilmour, a Cambridge student, issued an apology, saying he was “deeply ashamed”.
He added that he had got “caught up in the moment”, but was later arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and attempted criminal damage.
The protests coincided with a Commons vote on the Government’s controversial changes to university tuition fees.
