Coldplay will headline this year’s Glastonbury festival in Somerset, it’s been announced.
The band, who have been strongly rumoured to appear, will top the bill on the Saturday of the event, which runs from June 22-24.
Coldplay, who are currently recording a new album, are understood to have agreed to perform at the event this week, reports The Sun. The band also headlined the festival in 2005.
The Rolling Stones were also approached about headlining the event this year, but have apparently turned the opportunity down.
Tickets for this year’s Glastonbury festival have already sold out.
