Cheryl Cole Accent Leaves Americans Confused On X Factor USA

Cheryl Cole's accent confused several hopefuls as auditions for The X Factor USA got under way in America, it's been reported.

The Girls Aloud star was apparently asked to repeat herself on a number of occasions because contestants couldn't understand her Newcastle accent.

But, according to the Daily Mirror, Cole attempted to play down any fears over her accent.

She said: “I’m thrilled to be here. You might have to bear with me and the accent just a bit... I hope you are all looking forward to getting to know me.”

Cole is on the judging panel alongside Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and LA Reid. The series kicks off in August.
