Blink-182 have sought to quash their UK fans' disappointment after they announced a joint US tour with My Chemical Romance later this autumn.
The jaunt, unveiled last night (May 23), comes just weeks after the group postpone their summer dates in the UK and Ireland until 2012.
Fans have reacted angrily to the announcement on Blink-182's social-networking websites.
Responding to the disappointment on Facebook, bassist Mark Hoppus wrote: "I understand your confusion and frustration at hearing the US tour announcement tonight. Here's what's up. This tour was booked alongside the UK/European dates, a long time ago."
He assured fans the tour had not been booked after their UK dates were postponed and that they now had a deadline to finish their long-awaited new album.
"Now there's a hard deadline for the album to be turned in, and it will be released during our US tour,” he added.
Blink-182 and My Chemical Romance's tour will also feature Rancid and Manchester Orchestra.
