Liam Gallagher: I Want Johnny Depp For Beatles Film

Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher has revealed that he wants to cast Johnny Depp in his forthcoming film about The Beatles.

Gallagher’s new production company In 1 Productions is currently adapting the book The Longest Cocktail Party: An Insider's Diary Of The Beatles, Their Million Dollar Apple Empire And Its Wild Rise And Fall for the big screen.

Written by Richard DiLello, the book details the band’s life between 1968 and 1970.

Gallagher told Q magazine he wanted Depp, star of Pirates Of The Caribbean, to play The Beatles publicist Derek Taylor.

"Derek Taylor was a dude," he said. “He's up there with Lennon. The film script is done. It's gonna blow people's minds, man.

“I'm just waiting to find out when we choose the actors. I want Johnny Depp to play Derek Taylor. It's got Johnny Depp written all over it, man."

The film has yet to be given a release date.
