Lady Gaga's new album 'Born This Way' is on target to top the US Billboard album chart with first week sales of 1.15million.
It will make the album the biggest-selling record since 'Celebrity' by N*Sync In 2001, which sold 1.88million copies.
Sales of 'Born This Way' have been helped by a comprehensive promotional campaign, which included Amazon selling the album for 99 cents.
Billboard estimates that the two-day sales blitz helped the album shift nearly 500,000 copies.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Lady Gaga's second full-length album debuted at number one on the UK album chart on Sunday (May 29), and has repeated the feat across the world.
