U2 frontman Bono hitchhiked a lift with a Canadian ice hockey star after he got caught in a rain shower.
The singer and his assistant were out walking when they got caught in a torrential downpour in Vancouver on Tuesday (June 1).
Edmonter Oilers player Gilbert Brule and his girlfriend happened to be driving past when they saw Bono signaling for a lift.
Kelsey Nichols told CTV she didn’t believe Brule when he said it was Bono, but eventually devided to turn around and pick up the pair.
Speaking at a U2 concert in Edmonton on Wednesday, Bono told the crowd: "I like ice hockey, because people who play ice hockey are the kind of people who pick up hitchhikers. I know this from personal experience."
Brule was invited to the gig and said he was honoured by Bono’s tribute.
