U2's Spider-Man Musical Director 'Not Paid Royalties'

Julie Taymor, the original director of the U2-backed Spider-Man musical, has claimed she has not been paid royalties for her time spent working on the project.

Taylor worked extensively on the troubled production, but stepped down in March after a new crew took over to revamp the musical.

In an arbitration claim filed this week, The Stage Directors and Choreographers Society union said Taymor had "given nine years of her life to this project" and had not been given any payment besides her initial director's fee of $125,000, reports BBC News.

Producers have not commented on the claim.

U2's Bono and The Edge have also written new songs for the revamped production of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, which will now open on June 14.
