Michael Eavis Promises 'Best Glastonbury Festival Ever'

Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis has promised festival-goers that this year's Glastonbury will be the best ever.

The three-day event gets under way in Somerset from June 24-26 and features headline slots from U2, Coldplay and Beyonce.

''The lineup must be the best we've had - we sold all the tickets in three hours. No other event has sold as fast as this one, so after 41 years that's not bad,'' Eavis told the Daily Star

He added: "U2 are excited, especially after they couldn't come last year. I first tried to book them 35 years ago. They are bringing their own stage with them. We're having to put a lot of stuff in for them but we're so happy to have them."

"I will watch Beyoncé, it's going to be wonderful. She was very keen to come after seeing Jay-Z doing it. But there's no big set or extra requirements for her, she's going to use the stage that's already there."

Other acts on the bill include Elbow, Tinie Tempah, Queens Of The Stone Age, Morrissey and DJ Shadow.
