U2 drummer Larry Mullen, Jr. has admitted the band are nervous ahead of their appearance at this weekend's Glastonbury festival.

The Irish group are set to top the bill on the opening day of the event, which runs from June 24-26, a year after pulling out due to injury.

"It's been exciting but there's been pressure. I'll be happy when it's over, in a positive way," Mullen, Jr. told BBC Newsbeat.

He also revealed that it had been difficult preparing to play the festival again after last year's false start.

"There was a bit of disappointment," he said. "Then to have to ramp up again this year, it's taken a lot of time and energy just as far as figuring out what the set list is going to be, what we're going to do and how we're going to do it.”

"Without all the bells and whistles it's four guys back in the room playing through different set lists,” he added.

Glastonbury will be headlined by U2, Coldplay and Beyonce. Other acts on the bill include Elbow, Tinie Tempah, Queens Of The Stone Age, Morrissey and DJ Shadow.
