Tom Felton has revealed that he is "very glad" not to have been cast as a different character in the Harry Potter franchise.
Felton originally auditioned for the part of Ron Weasley, but when that role went to Rupert Grint, he ended up playing Potter-nemesis Draco Malfoy.
He told FeltBeats: "You know, no-one could have done the jobs as good as Daniel (Radcliffe), or especially Rupert, you know, comedic genius, but yeah! No doubt things would have been very different. I'm not sure I would have rocked the ginger hair as well as I did the blond.
"It's kind of a weird one because we auditioned for so many parts when we first went in there, and we had no idea how important that casting process actually was, and that in 11 years we were still going to be taking about it."
Felton also revealed that the cast were only signed up to make one movie - 2001's Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - and feared being recast after 2004's Goblet of Fire.
He said: "We all feared that after the fourth film that they were going to get rid of us and start again with new kids. So yeah, we're very proud to have made it all the way through, so to speak."
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is released on June 15.
