Lady Gaga: I'm Not Using The Gay Community

Lady Gaga has slammed critics that have accused her of 'using the gay community' to sell records.

The singer, who has in the past been outspoken about the stand for equal gay rights opportunity, has squashed claims that she is just 'using' fans.

That's "one of the most ridiculous statements anyone can make about me. I would say the top thing I think about every single day of my life, other than my fans, loving the music, and my family being healthy, is social justice and equality, '' Gaga told Advocate magazine.

Gaga recently retracted from selling an limited edition of the single 'Born This Way' to raise money for gay rights after the partnership with US retailer Target made political donations to anti-gay candidate Tom Emmer.

On the decision, she added: ''You're either going to try and change or you're not. Taking an ambiguous stance is not what I'm about, obviously. I like to go right for the ass-kicker. You're either in or you're out. I'm from New York. I know bulls*it. I can smell it from a mile away.''

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga has officially had July 3 named after her in Taiwan, it has been confirmed.
