The release date for Kanye West and Jay-Z's joint album 'Watch the Throne' has been announced.

The much-anticipated album, which marks their first studio-length collaboration, is released as a download on August 1 and physically on August 5.


The 16-track album includes production from Mike Dean, The Neptunes, Swizz Beatz, Lex Luger and No I.D.. Beyonce, Otis Redding and Mr Hudson are among the guest vocalists.

The tracklisting for 'Watch The Throne' was revealed earlier this month and includes the already released single 'H.A.M'.

'Watch The Throne' marks West and Jay-Z's first full album together, despite their numerous collaborations in the past.

  • Kanye West initially rose to fame as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records. He was influential on Jay-Z's influential and era-defining 2001 album, 'The Blueprint'.

  • Jay-Z – Brought up in New York's Marcy Projects, Jay-Z was abandoned by his father as a child and went on to endure a hard-hitting upbringing on the streets.
