Noel Gallagher has admitted that launching his solo career was a 'pain in the arse'.
The former Oasis member is set to release his debut solo album 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' on October 17.
Speaking to Q Magazine, Gallagher said he hated the idea of starting from scratch again: ''I was at a party two summers ago, when Oasis had split, and Richard Ashcroft was there. He said, 'I bet it's a relief'. I said, 'No, actually it's a f*cking pain in the arse'.''
He added: "I was 42 at the time. I'm not a frontman, now I have to be the guy up front giving it all the jazz hands.''
"I've been with a band with a great frontman, and I was a great guitarist and backing vocalist who chirped in with the odd funny quip. It was perfect."
The video for lead single 'The Death Of Me And You' was released on Monday (July 25).
