Blink-182: New Album 'Neighborhoods' Has A Diverse Palette

Blink-182 have revealed that their forthcoming album ‘Neighborhods’ will be very diverse record with some ‘prog rock’ tracks.

The band, who release the follow-up to their 2003 self titled album on September 26, said that the album has ‘a tremendous, diverse palette’.

Speaking to Jam Showbiz, guitarist Tom DeLonge said: ''There’s a lot of new elements. We have these songs that are total throwbacks, exactly what people would know of what Blink is. But then we have these songs that are madly different and experimental. And then we have songs that are like prog- rock Blink. So I really think that we have a tremendous, diverse palette on this. And what’s really cool too is because of the way it was recorded, all the songs sound so different from each other.''

He added that the band have enjoyed playing the new material live: ''It transports you back to a time when you just had so much angst and you need to change things up in your young adult life or teenage life and that’s the best thing about this band: It’s like eternal youth.’’

The album will be the band's first new material since they reunited in 2009 for a reunion tour, which is due to go on through 2012.

Blink-182's  new single 'Up All Night’ was debuted online last month (July 15) with an alternative video made up of a fan montage.
