Russell Brand: I Got No A-Levels But Still Married Katy Perry

Russell Brand has joked that he still managed to marry Katy Perry, despite not gaining any A-Levels.

The British comedian-turned-actor is one of a number of celebrities who have used Twitter today (August 18) to wish good luck to students collecting their results.

Brand, who failed to complete school, wrote: “British youths! Good luck with your A-levels, but don't take it too seriously. I've got none and still married a pop star.”

The comedian married Perry in October 2010 after a whirlwind romance that began after they met at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles a year earlier.

A-level passes have risen for the 29th year in a row, although this year there has been no increase in the total proportion getting A or A* grades.
