Katy Perry Equals Michael Jackson's US Singles Record

Katy Perry has equalled a chart record held by Michael Jackson for having five number one singles off the same album.

The singer has now become the first female single to score five US number one singles after releasing a remix version of her track 'Last Friday Night' featuring Missy Elliott.

Perry's five number one tracks are California Gurls, Teenage Dream, Firework, E.T. and Last Friday Night.

Michael Jackson held the record for five tracks including 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You', 'Bad', 'The Way You Make Me Feel', 'Man In The Mirror' and 'Dirty Diana' released from his album 'Bad' that all went to number one between 1987-88.

Meanwhile, Madonna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are among a host of stars who are set to pay tribute to Britney Spears at this year's MTV VMAs, it has been reported.
