Kasabian have revealed that they took inspiration from cartoon series Tom and Jerry for the orchestra sound on their new album.
The band, who release their new album 'Velociraptor!' on September 19, said they referred to Tom and Jerry when trying to find a particular sound for the album.
''I just explained what I wanted in basic terms like, 'You know the bit in Tom and Jerry where Jerry plays Tom's whiskers? - that sound', and she'd go, 'Ah, it's pizzicato!' and we'd get through it like that," guitarist Serge Pizzorno told The Sun.
He added: "The strings were recorded at British Grove Studios in West London with a 20-piece orchestra, which was a bit more complicated but I really enjoyed it."
Kasabian previewed tracks from their forthcoming new album at a number of their festival appearances this Summer. For more information about the festival and all this summer's festivals, check out the Gigwise Festival Guide.
