Liam Gallagher has criticised his brother Noel’s new band name High Flying Birds - branding them “High Flying Turds”.

In an interview with Q magazine, the Beady Eye singer took offence with Noel’s recent claims as to why he left their former band Oasis in 2009.

He also slammed his brother’s current appearance, comparing him to a Westlife member.

"He blew it. He could have said, I was a dick, he was a dick, that's life, it's 2011, here's my f*cking record',” Liam said.

"Listen, our Kid's a mouthy f*ck too. He said we had a year to come up with a band name and came up with Beady Eye.

"He had three and came up with the High Flying Turds. I don't know who dressed him but he looks like something out of Westlife."

As previously reported on Gigwise, Liam has begun legal action against Noel after he suggest Oasis cancelled a festival gig in 2009 because Liam had a hangover.
