My Chemical Romance were joined by Queen’s Brian May as they headlined the opening night of this year’s Reading festival (August 26).
The New Jersey band brought May on stage during their set encore for a cover of Queen’s ‘We Will Rock You’ and closer ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’.
Frontman Way, spoke to the crowd about the recent UK riots: '‘I know a few people have spoken about the recent events over here, but I just want to say this. It's amazing to be here with people who love music in a non violent way. If you're mad, don't throw a punch, don't start a fire about it, don't shout about it. Sing, that's the most powerful weapon you have.’'
During their set My Chemical Romance played a majority of tracks from their 2010 album ‘Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys'; including ‘Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)', 'Planetary (Go!)' and 'Sing'.
My Chemical Romance will headline Leeds festival tonight (August 27).
