Foo Fighters mocked protestors from the Westboro Baptist Church outside a gig in Kansas last night (September 16).

The band, who had been warned earlier this month about the planned demonstration, arrived outside the Sprint Center on the back of a truck dressed as the characters from their recent homoerotic ‘Hot Buns’ video.

They then performed a song, during which frontman Dave Grohl  praised America as the “land of the free, home of the brave.”

He continued: “I don’t care if you’re black or white or purple or green. Whether you’re Pennsylvanian or Transylvanian, Lady Gaga or Lady Antebellum.

“Men lovin’ women and women lovin’ men, and men lovin’ men and women lovin’ women, you all know we like to watch that. God bless America ya’ll.”

Foo Fighters are not the first band the Westboro Baptist Church have targeted. The controversial organisation has also picked gigs by Lady Gaga.

Westboro Baptist Church had also planned to protest the 10th anniversary of 9/11 in New York earlier this month.
