Cher Lloyd has urged the government to help stop online bullying.
The former X Factor star has been at the receiving end of malicious comments, including death threats, posted on her Twitter account.
The singer said she had learned to deal with the insults, but that other people were more vulnerable and that more must be done to combat the problem.
"It disgusts me that online bullying - nobody really cares about it,” Lloyd told BBC Newsbeat.
"No-one has made a big enough impact to stop these people. I'd definitely like to see more done about it."
When asked who she thought should stop the problem, Lloyd replied: "I kind of think it's the government."
Earlier this month, a teenage Lady Gaga fan who had been victimised online because of his sexuality committed suicide.
