Noel Gallagher has beaten X Factor's Matt Cardle to the top of the UK album chart (October 23).
The singer's debut album 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' outsold Cardle's debut effort 'Letters' by 40 percent, with sales of 120,000 in its first week.
Adele's '21' was at number four, with Ed Sheeran's dbut album '+' rounding off the Top-5.

Elesewhere, Rihanna and Calvin Harris were a non mover at number one with 'We Found Love'. The Wanted climbed the singles chart to number two with 'Lightening'.
