U2 Set To Take Indefinite Hiatus?

U2 frontman Bono has hinted that the band's end may be in sight.

The Irish singer has admitted doubts over the band's relevancy in today's business.

Bono told Rolling Stone: “I'm not so sure the future hasn't dried up. The band are like 'Will you shut up about being irrelevant?' We'd be very pleased to end on [latest album] 'No Line On The Horizon'.”

Adding: "We have so many [new] songs, some of our best. But I'm putting some time aside to just go and get lost in the music. I want to take my young boys and my wife and just disappear with my iPod Nano and some books and an acoustic guitar."

These comments echo that of band guitarist The Edge who recently said that the group, who are to re-release their 1991 album 'Achtung Baby', could return next year but that "it's equally possible that they won't".
