Conrad Murray broke down in tears during the ongoing Michael Jackson manslaughter trial.
Murray was moved to tears as several witnesses including a former patient appeared in court to defend the doctor.
The first witness to take to the stand by Murray's defence team was Gerry Causey, a former patient of Murray.
Causey described Murray as his best friend, and said: "I just don't think he did what he's been accused of."
Andrew Guest, from Las Vegas, added: "He makes sure you're okay, during the procedure, after the procedure. I'm alive today because of that man."
Dr Conrad Murray has been charged with the involuntary manslaughter of Jackson, who died in June 2009.
If found guilty, Dr Murray faces up to four years in prison and the loss of his medical license.
