American Football fans have started an online petition blocking Nickelback's proposed half-time show at Thanksgiving, after a heated reaction to their booking.
The band - led by frontman Chad Kroeger - are set to play a set during the interval of the game between NFL teams the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers on 24 November, say Rolling Stone.
But the online petition set up by supporters of the Detriot team has already received over 20,000 signatures.
A statement from the petition organisers reads:
"This game is nationally televised, do we really want the rest of the US to associate Detroit with Nickelback? Detroit is home to so many great musicians and they choose Nickelback?!?!?! Does anyone even like Nickelback?"
It continues:
"Is this some sort of ploy to get people to leave their seats during halftime to spend money on alcoholic beverages? This is completely unfair to those of us who purchased tickets to the game. "At least the people watching at home can mute their TV's. The Lions ought to think about their fans before choosing such an awful band to play at halftime."
No decision has yet to be many by the event organisers, despite the mass uproar of angry U.S sports fans.
Nickelback will release their latest effort 'Here And Now' on 21 November.
