Nirvana will re-release 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' to boost their chances of scoring this year's Christmas number one.
The band's decision comes after their fans have set up the group 'Nirvana for Christmas No1' on Facebook which has gained more that 107,000 likes so far.
A message posted on the site yesterday (December 5) reads: "We've heard about the campaign to get 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' by Nirvana for Christmas Number One in the UK (supporting the children's charity Rhythmix) and it looks like the label will re-release the single 7" as a limited edition for the fans!"
The 'Nirvana for Christmas No1' will be hoping to repeat the success of 2009's Facebook campaign which successfully helped Rage Against The Machine's track 'Killing In The Name' claim the Christmas Number One spot ahead of X Factor winner Joe McElderry.
The race is on!!
