Rod Stewart has opened the door to a reunion with old band Faces, after it was announced the band would be inducted into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.

The ageing singer admitted that he would have no problem in joining the group on stage for a performance at next April's induction ceremony.

He told Rolling Stone: "Oh, yeah! I'd love it. If they're all available I'll definitely make myself available."

The Faces reformed without their frontman in 2010, and played a headline slot at the Vintage at Goodwood festival with Mich Hucknall taking vocals.

When asked if he had a problem with that, Stewart replied: "No, not at all, mate. It's something that I would want to do, but it's getting a commitment from Ronnie [Wood] - who is hanging on to what the Stones are going to do.

"He'll suddenly say, 'Hey, let's tour next week!' I'll say, 'Hold on Ronnie, I've got commitments! I've got commitments for the next year'."

He added: "He added: "If we all sat around and said, 'Let's do it next summer, or let's do it for charity', or whatever reason, I would do it. It's not totally ruled out."

Guns N' Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Beastie Boys will also be honoured with induction, which takes place on April 14, 2012.
