Foo Fighters Announce Plans To Write New Album In 2012

Foo Fighters have announced that they will head back into the studio next year to start work on a new album.

The band, who released album 'Wasting Light' earlier this year, revealed that they have stated working on new ideas for their next effort.

Writing on the band's blog, frontman Dave Grohl said: ''We're not finished yet. There are still more shows to play, more songs to write, more albums to record, for years to come. I mean if you would have told me 17 years ago that in 2012 I would be writing songs for our eighth studio album well.

Adele, Kanye West and Foo Fighters lead this year's 2011 Grammy Award nominations. The London singer is nominated for a total of six awards, with Foo Fighters also up for six awards on the night.

Grohl added: "The fact that a rock and roll record, made in a garage, completely analogue to tape with no help from computers, could be a Number One album around the world, and get a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year... well... these days that's no small feat.

Meanwhile, Green Day, Foo Fighters and The Prodigy are set to headline next year's Reading and Leeds festival, an exclusive source has told Gigwise.
