Raunchy Lady Gaga Advert Cleared By Advertising Standards Association

Always one for causing controversy, Lady Gaga has hit the headlines again with a promotional video advertising the singer’s album ‘Born This Way’.

The clips in question came from her video for ‘Judas’ which were claimed to be too raunchy for children viewers complained.  However the advertising watchdog have ruled that the video is suitable for all viewers despite the singer seen clutching her body in a revealing leather clad outfit.

It was argued by Universal Music that the music video ‘Judas’ is aired at all times of the day on music channels and therefore the clips from it for the advert were also suitable for all viewers, including children. The ASA backed Lady Gaga saying that the video features her trademark outrageous outfits and performances and that they would expect nothing less from the singer for her album video.

A statement issued by the association stated “Because the ad had been carefully scheduled, reducing the likelihood of children seeing it, we concluded that the scheduling had not breached the code”.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga has confirmed that she will release a new album later in 2012.

The singer, whose second album 'Born This Way' came out in May last year, said she is planning a full tour as well.

Speaking to The Insider, Gaga said: "I just want to keep going. I'm not as goal obsessed as I am process obsessed. I just want to keep writing music. I'm looking forward to putting out another album and going on tour.

"I feel very blessed to be an artist who gets to make a living doing from what I love."
