Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl has revealed that he wants the band to record their next album in space.
The band, who recorded their last album 'Wasting Light' in Grohl's garage, will be heading back into the studio this year to work on their next effort.
We have an idea. It's kind of a really big idea. [We're going to record it] in space. To tape. An analogue moonshot,'' Grohl told MTV.
Meanwhile, Dave Grohl has unveiled the trailer for his new documentary 'Sound City' - you can watch it below.
Last month Grohl, and Taylor announced that they had recorded some new material but did not confirm what the project was for.
At the time Taylor said the pair had just finished a track with producer Butch Vig: "HUGE checks off the Bucket List today- did a song with Dave Grohl and Butch Vig. Do the words 'holy shit' say enough about it?!?"
However Taylor later revealed that the project is part of Grohl's documentary about Sound City Studios. The studio was the location for Nirvana's 'Nevermind' recording, and will see a host of musicians record in the studio as part of the project.
In an interview with Artisan News Service, Taylor said: "Dave is doing a documentary about the legendary board from Sound City that everybody and their mom recorded on and he's slowly but surely gotten all these people together to make music on that board again."
He continued: "He called me. He was like, 'Would you like to do a tune?' I was like, 'Are you serious? I'm on a plane right now.' And it's really cool, because it's me, Dave and Rick Nielsen [Cheap Trick] on one tune. And I'm like, 'Ahh…. Excuse me?!' It's just a huge check mark on my bucket list, let's put it that way. And I'm really ecstatic. It's a really good tune."
