Coldplay's forthcoming performance at this year's BRIT Awards has become a "logistical nightmare" for organisers.

The band, who will open the ceremony tomorrow night (February 21), have raised concern over the amount of pyrotechnics they are using for the set.

A source told The Sun: "It has been a logistical nightmare and for a long time organisers didn't think they'd be able to go ahead with the plans.

"People have been running around the arena with clipboards for weeks trying to sort it out."

Meanwhile, James Corden - who will host the event - told Xfm: "The show is going to be incredible. Coldplay are opening, which will be huge. They have spent a fortune on pyrotechnics to make it something really special.

"Blur will perform for 11 minutes at the end of the show - more than anyone has been given before for the 'Outstanding Contribution To Music Award'. Add Adele, Ed Sheeran and Noel Gallagher and you've got an incredible lineup."

Coldplay recently admitted that they don't expect to win any awards at the BRITS.

The band, whose album 'Mylo Xyloto' is nominated for album of the year, say they face competition from Adele.

Speaking to Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2, Martin said: "Unless Adele somehow deletes her albums, I think we can come to the conclusion that [we won't win anything]. I'm pretty sure of it."
