Amy Winehouse's parents, Mitch and Janice, have established the 'Amy Winehouse Foundation' in the search for a new star.

The ground-breaking scholarship will give financial backing to one future star at the same performing arts school where Amy started out.

Mitch said: "Amy was a pupil at the Sylvia Young Theatre School. This is where her talent was recognised and nurtured."

He continued: "The Foundation would like to give a child who otherwise couldn't afford the same opportunity the chance to realise their talents."

The Sylvia Young Theatre School is nicknamed the "fame academy" having produced a legion of talented young Brit stars, such as Emma Bunton, Billie Piper and Denise Van Outen.

Amy auditioned for a coveted place at the stage school when she was just 13.

Sylvia, founder of the famous theatre school has said: "We loved Amy and are thrilled and honoured the Amy Winehouse Foundation is being set up in her name.

It would be wonderful to find another Amy but there was only one of her. We would be happy to find a singer, dancer or actor who has a special talent."
