Jay-Z is facing legal action over a sample used in his 2000 hit, 'Big Pimpin''.
The US rapper, who is set to tour the UK later in 2012 alongside current collaborator Kanye West, has been issued the legal challenge by the nephew of Eygptian composer Baligh Hamdy. Osama Ahmed Fahmy claims Jay-Z 'mutilated' the track 'Khosara, Khosara' and that his family have not recieved payment for the sample.
Fahmy is demanding a cut of profits from the track, claiming that the source material required 'more specific permission' for use.
Meanwhile, Jay-Z has been added to the line-up of this year's SXSW festival, and will perform at the annual Austin event on March 12, 2012.
