James Corden has said that his interruption of Adele at this year's BRIT Awards was a 'non-event'.
Corden, who hosted the BRITs and was forced to interrupt Adele in the middle of her speech so he could cut to Blur's show-closing performance, revealed that he has faced far less questioning about the moment than he had expected.
Filming his sports panel show A League Of Their Own between time in New York appearing on Broadway in smash hit One Man, Two Guv'nors, Corden reportedly said: "She's fine, I've never known such a non thing to become a thing, ever.
"I've done a lot of press [in the US] in the last few weeks and no-one's mentioned it. I think they realised that someone didn't get to say 'Thank you' long enough and maybe thought it wasn't huge news."
Comparing the moment, which angered Adele and caused her to throw a middle finger in the air in frustration, to previous BRITs moments, Corden added: "The truth is you want something to happen at the Brits."
"Let's remember what the Brits used to be, where a story would be the lead singer of Chumbawamba throws ice over John Prescott. Is this really what we should be saying is a great showcase for our musical centre piece of the year? The show we did this year for the Brits, that was a good two-hour music show."
Meanwhile, Karl Lagerfeld has also apologised to Adele after he criticised her weight. It is believed he sent her a delivery of Chanel handbags as a way of saying sorry.
