Usher has taken to Twitter to prove he was alive after he became victim of an online death hoax.

Rumours circulated the internet that the R'n'B star had been killed in a car crash.

Usher took to the social network site to post a topless picture of himself with the caption "I must've died and went to heaven...Alive and cold kickin ass!!"

He then posted the same photo stating "Never scared, never dead" followed by "Livin' Legend"

Usher recently revealed to NME that his forthcoming seventh album was inspired by his visit to Coachella Festival. The album will feature collaborations from the likes of Diplo (who produced the star's current single 'Climax') and Australian pop duo, Empire Of The Sun.

"Empire Of The Sun I thought, 'man what an incredible sound', there was something just fresh about," he told the magazine. "And when we started working on 'Looking For Myself' in fact the week that I wrote and produced the record it was right after we’d come back from Coachella.

"And having gone to Coachella in California, it really kind of gave us an opportunity to have a restart, because that was certainly a different experience for me.”
