Skrillex has been included on a list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists by US publication SPIN.

The dubstep producer, who does not use a guitar as part of his act, came in at number 100 on the poll which also features entries for more traditional names such as Prince, J. Mascis and Kurt Cobain.

Explaining their reasons for picking Skrillex, SPIN wrote: "No contemporary musician has a more primal understanding of adrenaline-pumping, pulse-raising, chest-caving bulldozer riffs than dubstep mosh ambassador Skrillex. The bass drop to "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" might just be this generation's "Smoke on the Water"

Elsewhere on the list there are entries for some of the UK's best contemporary guitarists such as Radiohead's Johnny Greenwood, PJ Harvey and Johnny Marr.
