The Who's Roger Daltrey has laughed off ill-informed Olympic organisers who wanted Keith Moon to play a role in the Olympic Games opening ceremony this Summer.
Organisers of the Games are putting together a history of British music as part of the opening ceremony of their event and wanted the original line up of The Who to perform, even though Moon passed away in 1978.
"It could only happen in Britain. We are so organised." Daltrey joked during an appearance on US chat show Jimmy Kimmell Live!.
"We got a letter - well, an email - requesting could Keith Moon attend the opening ceremony (of the Olympics) and our manager sent an email back saying, 'Well actually he currently resides at Golders Green Crematorium, where he's been for the last 34 years! But maybe if you got a round table, some candles and some glasses, you might be able to get him back (through a seance)!'"
The Sex Pistols John Lydon has already revealed that he declined the opportunity to play a part in this Summer's Games.
