Bosses of The Voice are said to be panicking as ratings for the TV talent show plummet and are hoping booking big-name acts will revive the show's flagging fortunes.

Producers are currently reportedly chasing performances from Kylie Minogue and Cheryl Cole - both of whom having strong links to ITV show The X Factor with Cheryl and Kylie's sister Dannii having been judges on the show.

A show insider tells The Sun newspaper: “If the show keeps bleeding two million viewers a week, serious changes are needed at the highest levels and no one is safe.”

Viewers of BBC One's flagship Saturday night entertainment show have been deserting the show in huge numbers after the initial draw - spinning chairs - we ditched from the format.

After a stellar start in the viewing figures, The Voice pulled 6.6million viewers (down from 9million the previous week) on the weekend, with rival Britain's Got Talent taking a lead with a comfortable 10.7million viewers.
