Hurts frontman Theo Hutchcraft has suggested that his band were the first choice to represent the UK at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.
Engelbert Humperdinck will be the UK's artist of choice at this year's annual event but, posting on Twitter today, Hutchcraft showed his followers an email received in January of this year from someone claiming to be 'the Executive Producer of this year's 'Eurovision Song Contest' asking if Hurts would be interested in competing.
"We are underway with our search to find the UK representative for 2012 and I wondered if there might be any interest from Hurts?" reads the email screenshot posted by Hutchcraft.
Hurts have a huge following in Europe and have celebrated chart-topping success in Germany and Greece.
This year's Eurovision Song Contest takes place on May 26th.
