Pink Floyd's Dave Gilmour had to evacuate his home after a bomb dating back to WW2 was discovered by builders.

Gilmour and his family were forced to leave their £3m mansion in Hove, East Sussex after a German explosive was discovered by developers working on the six-storey property.

Gilmour’s wife Polly Samson kept fans up to date via Twitter, telling her followers: “They’ve found a bomb under our building site!

Adding: “We think it’s a bit of old pipe but MoD on their way.”

A Navy disposal team was called in to deal with the problem, removing the potential danger and declaring the site safe.

“They’ve taken away our bomb. Incendiary but missing bit that makes it go bang,” Tweeted Polly.
