The Killers have named their new album 'Battle Born', it has been confirmed today.

'Battle Born' will be the Las Vegas bands fourth album, their first since 'Day & Night' in 2008.

Speaking to Rolling Stone about the album title, lead singer Brandon Flowers said: "In a sense, all Americans are battle born. Our ancestors came here for something better." Drummer Ronnie Vanucci added: "It's living up to its title. This is our difficult fourth record."

Song titles confirmed for the album, due out before the end of 2012, include: 'Heart Of A Girl', 'Flesh And Bone', 'Carry Me Home' and 'Runaways'.

The Killers headline this year's V Festival alongside The Stone Roses, appearing in Stafford and Chelmsford on August 18-19.
